I notice that there’s plenty of Coup action over at Whoola Town and the Dub B U HQ, but the highlight of their impressive new album (out this week) has to be the hilarious skits. There have been some entertaining portrayal of square white guys over the years on interludes, but “Yes ‘Em To Death” takes the cake. “Two Enthusiastic Thumbs Down” is a great take on those motivational videos that certain companies try to shove down your throat as soon as they employ you, featuring Ice T‘s good buddy Jello Biafra.

Jello is also on that Cage album.

And supposedly he raps.

Sez Cage:

“One of the takes, he raps in the George Bush voice, and I actually liked that one. I wasn’t into the other one as much, but the one where he’s rapping like George Bush is amazing. Some of the lyrics I can remember because I’ve played it a million times. It was: “You too can die in one of my oil wars / The new crusade to settle dad’s old scores.” And the other lines I remember were: “When Jesus Christ comes back to Earth / We’ll burn some golf courses everywhere.” And then he says something like: “Everyone will be white, just like me / Except for my concubine named Condoleez.”

He should have put that on the album.

I posted this skit a few weeks back. Fucking love it. At least, I think I posted it…

Also, can’t we throw up entire chunks of the first two De La albums for skits that don’t suck? “Bitties in the BK Lounge,” alone, was brilliant like that.
