By popular demand, here’s the first of our regular competitions.

Thanks to the crew over at 33 Third (aka “the best on-line record store ever”)1 we will be awarding a $20 record voucher to spend on vinyl, CD’s or whatever, to the best “hip-hop stan” story that gets sent in.

Back in 2000, the marketing dept. at Def Jam cooked-up this silly-ass idea to find “Hip-Hop’s Biggest Fan” and televise the finals. Here’s part of an episode:

Nice work from Ja Rule‘s weed carrier Cadillac Tah (or Tah Murder as he was then called) in awarding that dude an “M” out of 10.

But that was then and this is now, and I have no intention of calling Big Tigga.

To win the voucher, email contest at unkut.com and tell us about an incident where you acted like a hip-hop stan2 or at least made a complete dick of yourself when you met a rapper or DJ that you’re a fan of.

Contest closes on 12 July, 2006 and the winner will notified before that weekend. Also let us know if we can post your story so that everyone can enjoy your embarrassment.

In other news, it looks like “Handing Out Beatdowns” defeated “Bodying That Chump” with 66% percent of the votes. Nice work Will.

  1. 1. I’m just assuming that’s true since I haven’t bought anything from them yet.[back]
  2. 2. If you have to ask, don’t bother entering.[back]
