wow I always hold Edutainment as the best BDP record. Its been a personal favorite of mine since 7th grade lo. idk man something bout that album, to have so many tracks. i still cant skip anything on that one. Shit every BDP album is skip proof until I Got Next imo. Kris can still bring it like no other though. finally got a chance to see him rock this past Rock Steady & of course dude ripped it. even brought the gangsta back out in Fat Joe.

In respects to Jeff Chang and other hip-hop "scholars" who write about the history, it seems damn-near impossible to write objectively and get every single detail just how it was (or should have been). I wasn't born early enough to truly experience hip-hop like that so I gather my info by reading books, old mags, interviews and what-not yet I sit here scratching my head sometimes at some of the rather contradictory statements that have been made. Nobody can write a definitive book on hip-hop history. You can just write about what it meant to you and the specific people you get to interview. I'm sure not all of them will agree. Haha, Great interview.

Promoting Peace through Hip Hop

Since 2001 KRS ONE has been promoting the Hip Hop Declaration of Peace & teaching its principles to all interested Hip Hop followers. In a community of many Ills, KRS ONE urges the move towards "peace, love, unity & fun" teaching the international Hip Hop community to become the changes that they would like to see on their own streets & for artists to think of their own selves beyond entertainment & more as the fabric of a community life.
With a range of nine elements of society, Hip Hop is capable of being lived as a sustainable lifestyle, which is capable of raising families & producing peace on the streets.
Proceeds go towards raising the awareness of positive Hip-hop as a cultural movement in UK

Every generation needs a hero and for Hip_hop for that period man he was surely it. He's right that there are myths and folklore in Hip-Hop that need to be dispelled and gradulaly are as time goes by. Like Hip-Hop actually orginating in the West Bronx, not the South Bronx..."The West Bronx, the West, West Bronx." I love the Sex and Violence album by the way. Great Interview.

Thanks for the interview, Rob. I picked up a copy of the album today, and it's def. KRS's most consistent project since The Sneak Attack, which is also a pretty strong album, and which I would urge peeps to check. Those tracks Hip Hop Knowledge, Hot, Attendance and Shaddupyaface were awesome KRS!!! Spiritual Minded, Kris Style(s), and some of his more recent material WERE pretty forgettable (but they had a couple of good moments all the same), but KRS has def. got his fire back, and it's good to see him garnering some real light at the moment (such as the recent interview with 50, the 'Classic' joint, etc).
