"How many other people read about the Scenario tape and thought straight away ‘Give me the address, i’ll find that tape i don’t care how long it takes!’"

Hah! I totally could see a bunch of dudes in their 30's and 40's just taking over the crib for Thanksgiving weekend, mumbling to themselves "Black TDK...'Unique Recording'... Black TDK...", totally ignoring all these other incredibly rare remixes and shit. Yeah, I just remember lovin' the two albums on S.O.U.L. - Son Of Bazerk and Young Black Teenagers - cuz it was on a Canadian rap show back when it was still a concept! I still remember it running across the bottom of "Fight The Power" - "The Bomb Squad is starting their own record label, S.O.U.L. Records... they plan to release their first two groups [OOPS...LOL...] by the end of this year: Son of Bazerk and Young Black Teenagers, a political group...". Sweet music. The video above was hilarious AND a great track, but my fave was "Are You Wit Me". Almost sounded HARD gangsta.

"You know how to reach us" was one of those joints that I never had a full length of. I would toggle between kiss and bls and sometimes miss some hot joints, well after 20 years, I found a classic. hands down this is the best HIP HOP site on the net. I wish people could experience the hip hop vibe from the days of true hip hop.

Hey guys, a few things to clarify.

Yes, I did the Terminator X Getaway Version of You're Gonna Get Yours.

The Scenario version with Pos and Black Sheep was done FIRST.

Wildman Steve and I still do radio to this day as we are very good friends. Check www.beyond.fm for "The Hip Hop Spot".

I am still in touch with the original K.O.P. Crack Jay is a professor at the University of Connecticut. Easy Breeze is out in Hempstead, L.I. and has some artists he wants to break. King Adrian is still in the music biz. Sadly, Double D is in the bing (jail for you dudes that aren't up on your slang.)

I am in the process of producing new output from Son of Bazerk, The Kings of Pressure, and (hopefully) Leaders of the New School. (Getting Busta to commit is tough at this point but it isn't totally out of the question.)

Hit me up..

That takes me back. I remember when Change the Style first came out and i just didn't get it at all.

How many other people read about the Scenario tape and thought straight away 'Give me the address, i'll find that tape i don't care how long it takes!'

yeah, Godunzipped, where there is hip hop...there I am...ha.

On this subject, I just remember I have a radio tape somewhere with some Townhouse 3 on it, but didn't realize it was Son Of Bazerk until now. One day in the mid/late 80s this college show in chicago was giving a history lesson on PE and that's where I first heard Spectrum City and they played Townhouse 3 and that MC Flavor "Girls..." cut... I gotta find that tape...

One of my longest going mysteries has been the connection between Son Of Bazerk and Kings Of Pressure. Thanx for finally getting me an answer. Great job as always Robbie, i'm a lil jealous cause I wanted to do this interview...ha.

I found a video clip a while back of Son Of Bazerk talking about the second album. He had outside productin that soundd ill. I think it was Sir jinx, 45 King, etc... I really want to hear that album.

I'm definitely a big Kings Of Pressure fan. "You Know How To Reach Us" is amazing in every way. I'm not made at the "Slang Teacher" album either, it had to grow on me. I definitely find myself rocking "Brains Unchained" and "Who's Gonna Take The Weight" pretty regular. Honestly that album made have some of the funniest dialog ever on a rap album (peep: "rappers have feelings too" or "call me on the telephone", which is on that album).

Now someone needs to track down the rappers to Kings Of Pressure and get their side of things I'd like to hear Hank's response to this as well.

anyway, great job once again!~

Once again, LONG ISLAND. There was no mention of Wildman Steve over WBAU...I def have tapes of that show. He was also on Terminator X's "Valley.." album if I remember correctly.
Seriously, that version of Scenario must be found on some Indiana Jones Holy Grail shit...
