Attention all G Rap stans – straight from Marley Marl‘s master reels – and via DWG‘s incredible Juice Crew EP – I present to you a never-before heard slice of KGR brilliance from the Road To Riches sessions. In case you needed a reminder of who the GOAT of rap is….
Kool G Rap & DJ Polo - ‘I Declare War’
The vinyl’s already sold out, but you can still catch the Lungbutters CD, mixed by DJ Format, from DWG for £12 GBP (OR £17 GBP with the Main Source 7″) by emailing here.

Damn this joint is FIRE!!!!!! I am a Kane fan from start to finish,…but early G.Rap was “UNTOUCHABLE”,UNBELIEABLE”!!!! G.Rap was that dude on that battle tip.
Comment by R.Jones 01.08.09 @Thank God this discussion actually exists. Really.
KRS’s recent diarrhea of LPs has really got me rethinking things.
Comment by The J 01.09.09 @Sounds like it’s been tampered with. The original was more raw than that. It was just the drums before, still ill tho.
Comment by P Lo 01.09.09 @Men at work is not greater than KRS career…cmon Robbie. KRS had more flow more styles and more content than anyone ever. His albums were consistent until 95 and you can’t say that about any other rapper. Everyone else had already made a debacle of an album or completely faded by 95. Besides there isnt one album by G-Rap that measures up to Criminal Minded thru Boom Bap or his self titled in 95 in my opinion.
Comment by Mercilesz 01.09.09 @insane. heard this on the snippet.
kgr is king.father of all these
streetcats.n still on top.
I need to take a minute to transcribe this track and then put it into my cRap Music ANALytical machine. G Rap was slicing and dicing polysyllabic words like he was drinking liquid swords.
I think this is the track that made Kane go fuck with Madonna and leave that rap shit alone.

^ ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’ would like a word with you.
Comment by Robbie 01.11.09 @cool but g-rap never spoke on politics, history, or anything that was relevant to me as a kid growing up in america. I could watch godfather or scarface if i wanna live vicariously through a gangster.
Comment by Mercilesz 01.11.09 @oh yeah …religion….krs is untouched in his content. not even chuck d who has prob the best voice of all time couldn’t touch krs in content
