Maybe it’s just that it’s all in the delivery, but I’m thinking Chapelle got a lot funnier later in his career. Nice post!

Obviously, this is weak, old material from a very young Dave. However, with Chapelle, more than just about any other comic out ther, it is all in the delivery. He was a funny inflection, and funny mannerisms.
It ain’t all that different from rap, actually. Material is only part of the equation.
