Who Is Rap’s King of Comedy? Part 2

Looks like I forgot a boat-load of hilarious MC’s last time. Here’s another stab at it…

Ol’ Dirty Bastard

Rap’s greatest mentalist, nobody kept it as real as Big Baby Jesus. Whether it was confessing to catching STD’s on his album, bum-rushing award ceremonies or copping a welfare check in a limo, ODB was in a class of his own.

Thirstin Howl III

The Polo-Rican is a rare comedic talent. Who else would record an entire album as an Alaskan Fisherman?

The Pharcyde

I know a lotta people ‘luh’ them some Pharcyde, but I found them ‘annoying like whistle rockets’ (c) MF Doom.

Kool Keith

Keith is effed-up. Capes, leopard-skin bikini briefs, masks…and that was just the back-cover of the Sex Style record.

Devin The Dude

‘Reefer and Beer’ is one of the greatest songs of our generation. Fact.

Sean Price

“It’s Sean here. Sean who? Your new fuckin’ boss!”

Busta Rhymes

Dude is like a rapping cartoon character….only with more steroids.

Eazy always had a sick sense of humor which I appreciated.

Willie D

So many classics – ‘Welfare Bitches’, ‘Fuck Me Now’, ‘Read These Nikes’, ‘I’m Not A Gentleman’. I try to live my life by lessons taught to me in Willie D records. I advise you do the same. Maybe without the iPhone scams though…

The Original Poison Clan aka The Baby 2 Live Crew

Before Debonaire and DJ Drugz made that Home Team shit, they created the classic debut Poison Clan LP with JT Money. Ignorance at it’s finest.

2 Live Crew

Fresh Kid Ice had a bionic arm, for fuck’s sake! Need I say more?

The Beatnuts

Les and JuJu can always be counted on for some smut-filled amusement.

Tim Dog

Join the Dog’s army and be all that you can be.

If Dr. Seuss had been mentored by Tragedy, he might’ve sounded a little like NORE.

The Akafella was such a dedicated purveyor of the comedic arts that he actually released two Porky’s-style films called Aktapuss and Anakonda with Heather Hunter and NORE.

‘What it do!’ – Blizzard Man.

Project Pat

Pat don’t play that.

Pretty Toney > Your Father.

I’m Not A Gentleman is still hilarious, but I voted for Tim Dog. His entire first album is one big no homo (dj quik can suck my dick, i’m a wax that ass, etc)

Ol’ Dirty is comicall to no end… he got it.

My fav. moment is when he was on MTV w/ Pras n’nem… a caller said ‘I know Pras and the Fugees do thiings for their community, what do you plan to do for your community” Dirty put his hand on his chest, gives this crazy look and says: “Nothin’!”

that alone gives him the nod.

And Ice Cube was funny as shit, his delivery makes him even more funny: “Ice Cube will swarm… on ANY muthafucka in a blue uniform!” That “ANY” murders it everytime! Haha

Good post, Robbie

Comment by Mercilesz 07.17.09 @

Tim Dog’s rap persona is like your old-school wrestler in kayfabe who never breaks his character, no matter what. definitely not intentionally, but the Dog is hilarious. the “LA Times” skit before “Bronx N*gga” is a prime example.

I think Tim Dog was funny on purpose for the most part, but not always. The part in “Fuck Compton” where he rhymes non-sensical “the spliff, the if, the fifth, the shift etc” for four bars and then lets out an “ooooohhh” like he just killed it hahah!!

“I came out my mommas pussy, Im on welfare. 26 years old and IM STILL on welfare! so I gottta get paid fully, wether its truthfully or untruthfully” – ODB Rawhide

NO MENTION OF ” BIZ MARKIE”??????????????

Comment by DJ DAVITO 06.11.10 @

Willie D without a doubt takes this. He has the skill of yelling his raps in a way that you can’t help but laugh at and he still manages to say something serious out of it. Who can do that?!

I’m from the ghetto hoe, I’m not a motherfucking gentleman!
