A little something to start your day off correctly…
Filmed and Directed by Pritt Kalsi. Here is the full film KOTB NYC 2010 featuring Casanova Rud, Minnesota Money Boss, Psycho Les and TR Love from the Ultramagnetic M.C’s.
This is a film about cultural preservation. Digging Culture, Vinyl culture, Hip Hop culture. In this film some of Hip Hop greatest producers take on the challenge of digging in the crates with a budget of only $40 to find drums and grooves to sample to produce a beat.
this film gives you an insight in to the minds of how a hip hop producer works. what sounds inspire them. this is their passion.
As a film maker Pritt makes no money from his films. All he asks is that support his work by visiting the site and purchasing a record or t-shirt. this is so that Pritt can continue to make these films.
The first single from this film is by Beatnuts Producer Psycho Les, only 300 pressed. support good hip hop. support a culture and movement. thankyou and enjoy.

Dope. Les has a point about biting-especially in regards to records, there is so much inspiration and so many samples out there.
Also: where is a place where I can dig and drink at the same time like Les?
That closing song “it the city” is dope too.
I’m not complaining here, but the camera work makes this almost unwatchable, and I was expecting some beat making in a video about making beats… Otherwise I enjoyed this thoroughly
Comment by Jesse 05.07.11 @They are all talented but Psycho Les is a boss. His whole lounging with a beer buying Barbie workout records steeze is a WIN!! Minnesota seems pretty business savy as well he was kinda schooling Casanova Rudd. Dope. Thank ya’ll.
Comment by Cresno Fresh 05.10.11 @I’ve never been a fan of samples. It just shows the lack of creativity of the producer. It takes a lot more work to come up with original beats as opposed to digging into the crates and stealing someone else songs.

Comment by Woobangers 05.10.11 @Best line was by Minnesota Money Boss, ‘I only got like a hundred crates, not like premo and em.’ Casanova was talking about harpsichords when he said hyperchords. Its clear these producers are well versed in all kinds of music, great vid.
Comment by gstatty 05.11.11 @If you have never been a fan of samples, you have never been a fan of hip hop.
Comment by PAS 05.13.11 @Nothing beats hearing OG’s drop knowledge about this beautiful thing called Hip-Hop.
“If you have never been a fan of samples, you have never been a fan of Hip-Hop”. Nothing but real talk, PAS.
Comment by oskamadison 05.15.11 @Not that impressive, $40 dollar budget; I can make a decent beat with a $10 budget.
And I was hoping to see them actually work; chopping on the mpc and finetuning etc. Maybe an idea for the next film !
