Comment by Mec-One 06.16.11 @Dope and appreciated. Blend tapes are hip hop. Some questionable song choices, but the Mary Jane Girls, Teddy Pendergrass, etc. can save just about anything anyway.
Question… I guess “80′s baby” technically encompasses those born in the second half of the decade too, but when I think of 80′s babies’ music, I certainly don’t think of Girls, Girls, Girls. Weren’t most 80′s babies already crotchedy, bitter hip hops fans already at that point – searching for a Conservative Coalition to sign up for? I know when Blueprint came out, I was like WTF is this shit? Then, when The Source gave it 5 mics, I was like, well, I guess things done changed.
