Has the student defeated the master? Pete and Roc offer separate takes on 10cc’s MOR classic. Please attempt to ignore Papoose‘s involvement when casting your vote…

Tough call.. Roc’s song is definitely tougher all around. But beat for beat, they are comparable.

i wish roc would’ve went in on pete’s version instead of having papoose stink it up.

roc marc’ is a bit more funkier but it’s a close call

Won’t let me vote, but can’t call it. You can groove moreso to Pete’s joint, but Roc’s is that gritty ish.

How Pap get on that joint tho? Ah well…

Pete Rock is one of my favorites and has been since ’91/92, but I never cared for that joint “Comprehend”. Roc Marcy KILLED IT!! Can’t wait for the new album…

Roc Marci killed it

Depends on the mood, I suppose. Pete had more of a swing to his joint and it works but Marc’s joint was just straight gutter. I’ll have to run with Marc’s joint ’cause even though I can tolerate Papoose in spurts, Marc is way easier on the ears.

This is round 2, the first being Vast Aire – Mecca and the Ox (prod. Pete Rock) and Marcberg but Pete Rock flipped the sample a lil crazier than Roc on that

@Scotti Flamingo: Shit, forgot about that one. Pete’s version of that is tailored to Space Rap, which is appropriate.
