From MC Jade to the Super Kids to MC Percy to Tragedy to Intelligent Hoodlum to Tragedy Khadafi, this guy has seen some shit in the evolution and gradual rotting away of this thing known as Queensbridge Rap. There may be a follow-up focusing on his work with Capone-N-Noreaga, Killa Sha and others, since Trag has always displayed a mean cameo game.
Download: A Salute To Trag the Intelligent Hoodlum

04 ‘The Super Kids Live At Hip Hop USA’ ((Best kid rapper of all-time? Just might be.))
05 ‘Live Motivator’ ((According to Marley Marl’s commentary on the Special Edition of In Control, Vol. 1, the second verse of this song is the birth of the Queensbridge rhyme flow we all know and love.))

07 ‘Live And Direct From The House Of Hits’ feat. Craig G

Surprised Calm Down isn’t on here, but these are some choice selections.
@LEX: That will be on the ‘features’ comp.
thanks for the comp !
Tragedy is one of those artists I love and have kinda played out, in no small part due to his tendency to re-release dozens of songs under different names. I don’t know how many times I’ve had to double back and say “Oh, this isn’t anything new.”
His 2nd album gets some play from me at some point at least once a month and it’s been that way for the past 7 years
Solid mix the only thing missing is the Pass Da Tek Remix where he was kind of in between Intelligent Hoodlum and War Report Trag.
@Ben: Interesting point. I don’t like the beat on that as much as the flip so it got cut.
Well done, Robbie.
But I’m missing “T.M”, plus I have to agree with Ben as “Pass The Tek” always been my favorite cut from this 12″. But you’re right, Xtra P’s “Funk Mode” beat is more catchy, although I prefer the Akinyele version (OG of “In The World”).
78 minutes of trag, BANGIN.
“At Large” was big. Shame it’s not on here.
Word at large blew my mind when I first heard it!
I like Permanently Scarred and Stay Free from his later material. Nore’s Halfway Thugs pt2 was a pretty scathing diss, “He don’t wanna be a Muslim no moooore, used to be black and proud now he wanna be hardcore.”
