One of these dudes is G. Wiz I guess.
Captain G. Wiz was a member of the Mighty Mike Masters, who held it down with Freddy B for the memorable ‘The Main Event’ and the not-quite-as-great ‘The Main Event (Round 2)’, plus that single they did with Ced-Gee and Paul C. (‘We’re Back’/’Coolin’ On The Ave’). The crew’s crowning achievement to my ears, however, is ‘Go G. Wiz’, another Ced-Gee / Paul C. speaker smasher which I make sure to play at anti-social volumes every time I have access to a club or bar’s sound system.
Imagine my delight when I heard this magnificent Kool DJ Red Alert exclusive from the same episode of the Saturday Night Mastermix Dance Party from January 1987 as the ‘Bait’ original mix? The Captain evokes some peak GMC vibes here, not least of all when he declares his crew to be ‘The Worldwide Rapping Champions of The World’.

p.s. Today on Middle Aged Rap Twitter, Dante Ross told me that Grand Puba once had the idea of starting a group with himself, Positive K and Big Daddy Kane, circa 1991. File that next to the Positive K and Grand Puba album that almost happened on Island Records.

Puba, Positive K and Big Daddy Kane would have been the business.
Imagine my delight when I saw that youd posted this LULZ
