Havoc paid dues in the early nineties by holding weed for both Tragedy and Blaq Poet (during his PHD days), but a little-known fact is that Prodigy debuted as the rent-a-rapper on for teen-jack swingers High-Five on “Too Young”, a song from the Boyz N The Hood soundtrack. Hav also rolled whoolas for Large Professor while he observed how to finesse beat-making equipment during the recording of Juvenile Hell, which he put to good use when he unleashed his highly-influential, brooding sound on The Infamous.

Right from the jump, the Mobb realised that they’d need a large network of weed carriers to sustain their love for the izm without having to worry about getting bagged by TNT. Rapper Noyd (bka Big Noyd) has maintained as the most trusted of these weed holders over the years, so much so that he’s considered as an unoffical third member in much the same way as Tef is to M.O.P. Noyd has released two solo albums and an EP, but doesn’t look like abandoning his lucrative position anytime in the near future, except for time-off to serve the occassional bid up north for general gully behavior. Alchemist also serves as a loyal cheeba holder, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his years as a Soul Assassins weed carrier for DJ Muggs. Plus, he also provides the ever important “cracka factor” (which is always handy) as well as providing some dope beats for the crew.

A group by the name of ACD carried for the Mobb on the America Is Dying Slowly album, with the dope “Street Life”. They went on to make some records without the Mobb which weren’t as good. Infamous Mobb (Godfather Pt III, Ty Nitty and Twin Gambino) ensure lifetime weed carrier status from their name alone, while Littles wasn’t satisfied with holding the next man’s stash and was given his marching orders after he was involved in Al catching a few speed knots, thus breaking the cardinal rule of weed carrying: THOU SHALT NOT MESS WITH YOUR WEED OWNERS’ OTHER CARRIERS.

Let’s not forget Mike Delorean and Swells of Bars and Hooks, who despite claims from the fellas that they were sure to “ship diamond” (10 million units), have yet to set any sales records for mix CD’s like The Black N-Sync, and eventually stopped holding chronic for the Hav and P. Holding it down for the under-age weed carriers are the Killa Kids, who may not even be a real group but got shouted-out a few times, which is good enough for me.

From their days as the Poetical Prophets all the way up to now, the two little duns from the Q-U have not only released an impressive catalogue ofanti-social street anthems, but have built up a sizable collection of associates to stash the ‘dro for ’em.
