While I was thumbing through an old rap magazine, I found this ad for an album called Next Up – Rap’s New Generation, but a more fitting title may have been Stash This – Weed Carriers Rap. The track listing reads like a who’s who of some of rap’s most well-known weed holders.
1. High Rollers – Q-Tip / Consequence
2. Yeah Yeah – Ruff Ryders / Drag-On
3. Up In Smoke – Terror Squad / Cuban Linx / Triple Seis
4. Club Bangers – The Whoridas / Third Rail
5. Roots – Royal Flush / Da Wastlanz
6. The Squad – Memphis Bleek / Da Ranjaz
7. Fo My People – Harlem World / Showstoppers
8. Larger Than Life – Xzibit / Montage
9. Blackhand – Blackhand / The Blackhand Allstars / Mecca
10. Sidewalk Confessions – Tragedy Khadafi / Napoleon / Killer Shah
Not only does it feature traditional weed owners and their respective carriers, but it also spotlights the weed holder’s weed carriers, such as Memph Bleek (who carry’s for Jay-Z), The Whoridas (Saafir’s holders), and Harlem World (Ma$e’s human stash spots)! The print ad for this album also promised a track from Lord Tariq and the legendary Money Boss Players (hardly his weed carriers, but I guess he was more well known from his work with Peter Gunz), which never made the final cut of the album.
Still, the Tragedy and Royal Flush songs are nice, so if you see this in the 25 cent cut-out bin it’s worth picking-up.
[…] The final verdict? Both of these CD’s lose. You’re better off picking up this in the dollar bin for the ultimate Weed Carrier rapping experience. […]
